We host several events every year. At Laskianen in February, we gather to celebrate Finland and partake of some fine pea soup. Our Annual Business Meeting is held in the spring so we can take care of official SHSK business for the year, such as the election of officers, and have a potluck dinner. Syttende Mai is held in May, and we celebrate Norway’s day of independence outdoors, with everyone bringing their own picnic dinner. Swedish Midsommar is held in June with a potluck dinner (and sometimes we even dance around a maypole!) In October, we have a Fall Banquet at Spindletop Hall, with a program and meal. Finally, in December, we hold a Lucia Fest program and potluck dinner, which is always one of our favorite events.
